Terms of Service

You may use ip.chip.icu for your personal information needs. You may use it in automation within reasonable speed limits via the provided tab-separated plaintext or JSON endpoints. Rate-limiting applies. Commercial usage is not allowed, unless you donate accordingly to cover server costs and efforts. Neither uptime nor accuracy guarantees apply.

Privacy Policy

There is currently no tracker, not even piwik. Ordinary server logs are anonymized and cleaned regularly. The upstream servers can only associate the IPs with ip.chip.icu and somewhat guesstimate human usage, assuming obvious hostnames. (Even this would be distorted by caching.) No personal information is collected or sold. An IP without context is not PII.

Contact

Legal requests go to /dev/null unless officially verifiable court orders are provided. Find the respective address via the usual means. There is no need to list any address here. A system has been in place for official contact purposes ever since the creation of the internet. There is no information we could hand over to begin with.

• Append an IP to the URL, to look up another one than your own. Works for all endpoints.
